Dentists and Teeth - preschool lesson plans
Arts and Crafts Dentist Reflector Have the children cut out two strips of paper that when connected will fit around their head. Connect the strips with glue or tape, (staples will catch the child's hair). Supply each child with a circle shaped piece of tag board and a piece of tin foil. Have the child wrap the tin foil around the tag board. Staple the tag board to the headband. On mine I wrote "Dr. Suzy" and "Dentist Max" or whatever they wanted to be ![]() Paper Plate Mouth Supply each child with a small paper plate and tiny marshmallows. Have the children glue the marshmallows around the edge (for teeth). When the glue has tried, fold the plate in half. Toothbrush Art Have the children use a toothbrush as a paintbrush. Health Food Collage Supply the children with magazines with pictures of food. Have the children cut out health foods and glue the pictures on a piece of paper. Junk Food Collage Supply the children with magazines with pictures of food. Have the children cut out junk foods and glue the pictures on a piece of paper. Games, Math and Science Teeth? Discuss animals that have teeth, and those that do not. Make a list. Have the children come up with their own animals. Count your teeth Have the children count the teeth in their mouth. Compare results with the class. Graph the results. Brush your Teeth Program Have the children brush their teeth after lunch and snacks every day. Have parents provide toothbrush and toothpaste for the children. Spread peanut butter (gums) on one side of two apple slices. Place mini marshmallows (teeth) onto the peanut butter of one apple.
