With my toddler class, we used this theme to enforce the concept of using words instead of actions. With older kids, you can talk about different situations and ask how each person feels.
Art Musical Art Play music while the children create an art project. Try different music to set different moods. Feelings Collage Provide the children with magazine with people and children in them. Have the children cut out the pictures and glue them to a piece of paper. Have the children tell you how each person feels. Feelings Art Ask the children to create a project that shows "angry" "happy" or "sad". Feelings Faces Provide the children with a variety of precut facial features from magazines. Have the children glue the features on paper plates to create a face. Feelings Faces Have the children draw happy, sad, angry, or scared faces. Feelings Stamp Have children use stamps that depict different feelings on a piece of paper. Feelings Stickers Have children use stickers that depict different feelings on a piece of paper. Math/Science/Games How Do You Feel Today Ask the children how they feel? Tally the results and create a graph. Feelings Match Create a feelings memory game with index cards and stickers. Feelings Sort On circles draw many different faces that show happy, sad and angry. Have the children sort the circle by feelings.
